what are you favorite theme songs for shows.
i'm such a couch potato (don't judge me as a loser for that, even if it's accurate) and i looooooooove tv more than i love myself. so i have a couple or more than a couple of fave tv theme songs.

i looooooove the theme for buffy by a band nerf herder. i have no idea what nerf herder is or where they came from but this theme is so perfect. i loooove it. love the bass especially.
have a soft spot for the rembrandts' i'll be there for you, the theme for friends. it's catchy and sweet and kind of annoying and the show mirrors that well. but at the end of the day, it makes me smile. i still say phoebe's smelly cat is a better song.
i kind of like the ally mcbeal one, searchin my soul although vonda's voice tends to grate especially when watching ally mcbeal dvds when the song is being played every forty minutes or so.
the first, ethereal theme for the show, felicity was truly lovely. it's the girly vocals one, which is just so perfect. later seasons replaced it with better version of you, which was still very cute.
i'll remember some more.
gonna get back atcha.

loved the ally mcbeal until they "revitalised" it for seasons 4 and 5.

buffy and twin peaks themes are always good too.

the early ab fab theme (that was used in series 1-3) is great.

this life had a fantastic theme. i think that's probably my favourite actually.

OMG
YEAH
twin peaks, of course.

also six feet under has that thomas newman score and theme which just reminds me of american beauty. totally evocative.

i wish id watched six feet under when it was on. it was on too late (12midnight on terrestial if i remember correctly)
LightYears
The six feet under theme wasn't that amazing. And yeah, reddie, it was at midnight and then the later series' showed at like 3am/5am after Big Brother. I watched most of it but sometimes it was such an effort.

Shocked that neither of you mentioned it, The Sex And The City theme. I could hum that all day.

I was going to say Six Feet Under as well.

We Used to Be Friends for Veronica is great too, captures the venomous nature of the show.

oooh yeah
love that tune
everytime i hear it, i think veronica mars!
i don't like how they did a remix for the last season though.
Cherub's Ass
Twin Peaks in its lovely cheesiness.

I really like the desperate Housewives theme, too bad it's too classy for what the show has become. lol I ll still be watching the 4th season though...
wooden and alone
cheesy?!?!
that's class all the way
Cherub's Ass
I really love the music for Twin peaks, but it can be cheesy occasionally, but I mean that in the most positive way possible.
wooden and alone
what do you mean cheesy?!?!
like retro??
because it's jazzy to me, perfect cinematic score. i mean, few people have the nerve to call badalamenti's score cheesy.

Come ride the little train that is rolling down the tracks to the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

Forget about your cares, it is time to relax at the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

Lotsa curves, you bet - even more when you get to the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

There’s a little hotel called the Shady Rest at the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

It is run by Kate, come and be her guest at the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

And that’s Uncle Joe, he’s a movin’ kind of slow at the junction. (Petticoat Junction)

I love that show! Old shows had such great theme songs. Did you know that when they were creating the show, they named the town Hooterville as a joke, thinking that it would never pass the censors and that they would have to change it? But no one ever caught the "other meaning" of the name, so the town remained Hooterville!

When my friend and I would get bored in band class, we would always sing the theme to Petticoat Junction, as well as the themes to Green Acres, The Brady Bunch and The Monkees.
