Does anybody listen to any bands that sing in a language other than English? As for me, I listen to A LOT of Japanese music (some of my favorite artists are Japanese). I also LOVE Shakira (say what you will about her "dying horse" voice, but her new album is great). But my favorite has to be Rammstein, who are German. God, they just rock so much. My friend has seen them 5 times, in Germany, no less. Boy, how I am jealous.

I really like some french singers.

And I love it when bands or artists have a bonus french track. Like Placebo's "Protege Moi." or Auf Der Maur's french version of "Taste you."

shakira live is the funniest shit.

i actually own a lot of brazilian records (most songs are in portuguese) and i know several japanese, italian, and spanish bands, too. maybe we could actually discuss and try to share? most people in the united states aren't very flexible when it comes to listening to foreign music, but it's always worth a try, i suppose.

NENA, she's German and sings in German, but she released the same German albums in English too!! My fave song by her is 99 Luftbaloons (which I think means 99 flying balloons or something!!!!

The Germans do metal so well!

Rammstein do an amazing live show too. The kind of flame throwing show that makes you want to see it in Eastern Europe, where the health and safty rules aren't so strict laugh.gif

Woo! Mad Capsule Markets! Are they still around?

And speaking of Rammstein, they already have a new CD coming out called Reise, Reise Vol. 2. It's stuff that didn't make it onto Reise, Reise. My friend heard one of the new songs when he saw them live recently. It's called Benzin (which mean Gasoline, I believe), and he said it's orgasmic.
