Hey guys,

I'm part of a feminist student group at my university and we're looking to (potentially) bring Liz Phair to perform here. I've personally been a huge Liz fan for years and I'd love it if she could come here. I'm not going to lie, though, I'm a little nervous about asking her just because I think she'll probably say "no": She said she was going to take a break after the "Somebody's Miracle" debacle, and I know that performing in front of people isn't Liz's favorite thing in the world (because of her stage fright.) But Liz also has a new song on the Nancy Drew soundtrack that I'm sure her handlers/label would want her to promote - so you never know! At the very least, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Do any of you know how I would go about contacting Liz's publicist and/or manager? I was going to use IMDB pro, but the contact information for Liz's handlers isn't listed there. I figure the information is probably listed online somewhere (so that concert promoters/ anyone in the press could contact her handlers with questions,) but I have no idea where to look for it. Would I be better off contacting the PR people at Capitol Records?

Any suggestions/help you guys could give me would be most appreciated.

I'm afraid I don't know, but there's a chance that Capitol has recently or will soon drop her from the label. (on the Nancy Drew soundtrack another Capitol artist was listed as appearing on behalf of Capitol, while Liz wasn't.)
So who knows really what's going on with Liz right now.
Does anyone know if she was listed as appearing on behalf of Capitol on the Minnie Driver album?

Has the Minnie Driver album been released yet?

Edit: I just checked, and the album is due to be released 7/17 (a week from today). We might have more information then.

Thanks so much for those links! I'll shoot Liz's people an e-mail later this month. By that point, I'll be all set up and moved into my dorm (I'm on vacation now.) I'll also know if my group's University funding is secured by then so I will know how much we can offer to pay her.

As I said earlier, I'm still pretty sure that Liz will say "no" to the idea of having her perform here - but it doesn't hurt to ask anyway.
