Gillian Welch is coming to the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln (where I saw Neko Case) on August 15.

I'm thinking about going to it, even though I know very little about Gillian Welch. Tickets are only $20-23

i usually go by myself. then i don't have to deal with that whiny kind of crap. in fact i've got a concert i'm going to this afternoon by myself. well, sort of. i'll be spending the afternoon with liz phair live (as close as i can get) at joe's pub. it's not the same thing i know, but it's as close as i'll probably get.

We were smelling grass when they did "Jesus is Just Alright". I believe I caught whiffs 3 or 4 other times. I haven't owned any grass in years, but I can definitely tell when it is being smoked.

Concert was great. They played 4 songs during the encore. China Grove was the 2nd and Listen to the Music was the final track of the night.

This is a really great concert to go to if you get the chance. They, more than just about anyone else we've seen, seem to really be enjoying it and completely loving what they're doing. Absolutely amazing!

Kelly Clarkson - as expected she sounds phenomenal live. We got there late and missed the first 3 songs. She doesn't dance or anything, but has lots of energy. Pretty good set - really shined on "Hole". I didn't really appreciate the two covers she sang of songs we have never heard. One was even part of the 4 song encore. And of course the last song was "Since U Been Gone" and it was pretty cool to watch a sea of people all jumping up and down along with her. All in all a pretty good show and my god daughter had a really good time.

Well tomorrow afternoon, I'm taking off around noon time.

I hope to see Shelby Lynne at Waterloo Records around 2pm. The big trick will be getting into the place before it fills up.

Kendall Beard is supposed to be performing at 4pm, if I can figure out where.

Noush Skaugen at 7:30pm. She says that there's another good female artist at 8:30pm.

I don't have anything lined up for Saturday, but we might drive downtown and just wander around like we did last year.

I found out recently that Reel Big Fish, one of my favorite bands if not my absolute favorite band of all time, is going to be at Warped Tour this year... which really surprises me considering they haven't been "popular" in over 10 years! But nonetheless, they're the only reason that I'm going to Warped Tour =P I'll be going!

Just read that The Regeneration Tour will hit Michigan at one of my fave outdoor venues this August.
