oh my i love that song I esp love the part "no sex no drugs no wine no women no fun no sin no you no wonder its dark" It sounds sexier than the original And the dude shes singing with I think he was a member of the Vapors who originally snag it

She recorded it with Material Issue (who played all the instruments), a now-defunct power-pop act from Chicago. The dude she's singing with is leader Jim Ellison, who commited suicide about a year later.
They backed her in the same way on "Rocket Boy" (from the Stealing Beauty soundtrack) and "The Tra-La-La Song" (from Saturday Morning Cartoons Greatest Hits).

Late 1995 probably?
Juvenilia has a copyright date of 1995 on it (just checked my copy), although I could have sworn it was released in '96. So much for my memory!

How ironic that I just saw this video last night for the Vapors. On the back of the ep, doesn't it say when songs were recorded? I could have sworn it did.
