lucinda williams - like a rose
It's ok…you don’t have to be afraid
There’s nothing to worry about cause we got it made
It’s just a simple matter of…. letting me into your love
If you let that feeling come over you
Then there’s nothing more that you can do. …Just let it go. Let it go
If it's love you want...hold out your arms
It’s all right here its safe and warm
It’s ok to feel good
That’s the way it should be
Everything we have is fresh and new
I will open myself up to you like a rose...like a rose
Everything we have is fresh and new
I will open myself up to you like a rose... like a rose

i love that song.
reminded me to download it.
I remember hearing it a few years back. This was back when I actually listened to the radio. I only heard the very end, but it reminded me of other songs I liked, like Natural One by Folk Implosion. SPeaking of which, I remember seeing Kids (the movie) back in the mid 1990s, and recognizing the locale at the end. Chloe Sevigny ends up in the famous coed bathroom at The Tunnel -- my favorite drug club of yesteryear. I've got an invite hanging on my wall. I'll upload a photo.
But back to Yoo-Hoo. I heard it, and lingered on the station hoping to learn who wrote it. After many years of thinking about it, I finally went out and bought the album. But it's the live version.. W&A, do you have the real version? I'll go out and buy it, of course, but would like to download it to my MP3 player to help make the walk more enjoyable.
Please please me.

anyone who likes movies about high school and bitches is probably familiar with this song. it was the theme whenever those devilish babes walk the halls, with their heels and hooker ware. those scenes were more interesting than the whole film, methinks.

Gordon Lightfoot - Carefree Highway
I got a Gordon Lightfoot's best of CD that had The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and was listening to some of the songs and this one jumped out at me.
I was helping my wife prune back the Crepe Myrtle trees in the backyard this afternoon and Liz Phair - Strange Loop sorta jumped into my head, so I started playing the song on my iPod. For the longest time, I really didn't get into this song, but it keeps on growing on me. This will be my secondary Song of today.

Paula Cole - Me
I am not the person who is singing
I am the silent one inside
I am not the one who laughs at people`s jokes I just pacify their egos
I am not my house, my car, my songs
They are only just stops along my way
I am like the winter
I`m a dark cold female
With a golden ring of wisdom in my cave
And it is me who is my enemy
Me who beats me up
Me who makes the monsters
Me who strips my confidence
I am carrying my voice
I am carrying my heart
I am carrying my rhythmn
I am carrying my prayers
But you can`t kill my spirit
It`s soaring and it`s strong
Like a mountain
I`ll go on and on
But when my wings are folded
The brightly colored moth
Blends into the dirt into the ground
And it is me who is my enemy
Me who beats me up
Me who makes the monsters
Me who strips my confidence
And it`s me who`s too weak
And it`s me who`s too shy
To ask for the thing i love
And it`s me who`s too weak
And it`s me who`s too shy
To ask for the thing i love
That I love
I am walking on the bridge
I am over the water
And I`m scared as hell
But I know there`s something better
Yes I know there`s something
Yes I know, i know, yes i know
But it`s me
And it`s me
But it`s me

I don't care what my teachers say
I'm gonna be a supermodel.
Everyone is gonna dress like me,
Wait and see
When I'm a supermodel
And my hair will shine like the sea.
Everyone will wanna look just like me-eee
Cause I'm young and I'm hip and so beautiful,
I'm gonna be a supermodel
I wish that I was Tori Spelling,
with a car like hers and dad likes hers.
And I would show them how, how it was done.
That be fun, that be fun.
And I'd write my schoolreport,
on why I love my jeans, why I love my jeans.
And oh, upon my lockerdoor it is the coolest thing
that you have ever seen.
Cause I'm young and I'm hip and so beautiful,
I'm gonna be a supermodel
I didn't yesterday,
And I'm not gonna eat today
And I'm not gonna eat tomorrow
Cause I'm gonna be a supermodel
so beautiful.......I'm gonna be a supermodel
Cause I'm young and I'm heip and so beautiful,
I'm gonna be a supermodel
I'm gonna be a supermodel
