It's not a great topic title, I know, but just go with it.

Pretty self explanatory. Post whatever it is that you're excited about or looking forward to. For me it's:
Neko Case concert on April 3
End of school year on may 3
Going to Philadelphia this summer
trampolinefromspace
I'm looking forward to meeting acidmouse.

I probably ought to watch "My Dinner With Andre" beforehand. Somehow, I think that movie might put me into the right frame. I've never watched it before.
acidmouse
Likewise, Trampoline.

I think the American public will either hate that movie because it's ridiculous, or get the fact that it's supposed to be ridiculous and love it. It worked for 300.

I'm pretty excited for our senior class trip coming up this Wednesday to DC.

I don't think that enough of the American public will go see it for the American public to have have a collective opinion on it.

nothing is worth getting excited about. eventually, everything is a disappointment.

You've been the stunt double in one too many Viagra commercials.

The end of the world. I mean,I'm not one of those morbid assholes or anything, but, do you realize what a mind blower that will be? The greatly overrated planet Earth just getting the lights shut out on it. Insane!

Yeah, it'll be pretty awesome, in a horrific, frightening, doomed kind of way.

It will be less horrific, frightening, and doomed than the Bush administration ,so, how bad could it be? That was a totally random and blatant slam of President Hitler.....I don't apologize. As you were. Nothing to see here.

i was the watching the independence day and was just pondering about the possibilities. i was almost hoping an alien ship would cover the sky. hours later, i hanged out on the rooftop and just wondered.. that would be cool.

Record the responses to your lines and put it on a cd, that way you can listen to it and in the blank spaces say your lines; it is like having another person to rehearse with. That is how i memorize harder stuff like Wm Shakespeare.

I remember feeling like that. I felt like that for a about 4-5 years. I don't really feel like that much anymore. Thank God.
Jamie
How did you stop feeling like that?
trampolinefromspace
You need to realize that people care about you.

They do.

But sometimes that just isn't enough.

A lot of people's sadness only exists because it's the easy thing. Happiness is hard work. Being sad is easy. Dwelling is easy. Moping is easy. Staying in bed is easy. Comfort Eating is easy. Hurting yourself is easy. It's so much harder to be happy, to make effort, to attempt. We all go for the easy option so often.

My favorite states are in contrast with one another; I like to either be really calm and soft or really racy, irresponsible, hurtful and full of bite. Sometimes that kind of action is just essential.
wooden and alone
i think being sad rocks.
trampolinefromspace
I think that it is much, much harder to be happy if you are intelligent. The more intelligent you are, the more unhappy you're likely to be naturally.

I think that I've been ignoring the demons of my childhood for a long time now and maybe only now am I really coming to grips with that and trying to figure out what it is that I really want and what's really important.

It is easy to get stuck in a rut and just continue to do what you've always done. The trick is to start taking risks and move beyond the norm.

You have to accept the chances that you'll get knocked down and then you get back up.

When I go to change jobs, I have to go through this whole getting psyched up to update my resume, and then find the jobs, and then send the cover letters in, and then interview. My first interview of the sequence always sucks, because I haven't done it in a long time and the first one is always something that you probably don't want anyway. The important thing is to go through it and get it out of the way so that you can have the better interviews and get a decent job.

Yes, I could have stayed with that first job and gotten layed off like a lot of the people that stayed behind. I could have stayed working for that second company that just barely made money over the years. The third company also started cutting the good people too. I'm on my fourth company and they've been taking care of me and I am appreciated. I may not stay there forever, but I should get good references from the people that I've worked with.

Right now, my wife is talking again about a vacation over to Europe--looking at Italy. I'm excited. I need this.

Is there anyone funnier than Will Ferrell (besides Sandler)?
sir moltenrod
I agree. He makes me laugh just thinking about him! He is never afraid to just go completely off the wall. Adam Sandler is my favorite, but,Will Ferrell is damn close.
wooden and alone
adam sandler is terminally unfunny. i even like david spade more. will is funny. he's weird.
adam is a schlub.

that is so true. i have to listen to so much music-to block out my thoughts.

go you for working on conquering your demons. i need to work on that as well, though i have plenty of things to work on..

The last and only other time we went to Europe, we went to Venice. There is a place that sells the Venetian glass in St. Mark's square. It's really cool, because they should you how it's made.

We got the pieces with the gold in the glass. Very fine.

If anyone ever comes by to see me, I'll show you. I guess that I could post some photos.

One final note--we went there 21 years ago. I was 30 at the time.

Hey! I'm too young to be old!

When I went to Ireland we went to the Waterford Crystal Factory and we got to see the whole process of making the crystal and all that. It was pretty cool.

I should say that I'm excited about May 6th.

Mrs. tramp and I will have been married 29 years on that day. If you do the math, you'll see that I have one of the easiest anniversaries to remember.

We don't have any plans for that day, but the trip will probably be a partial celebration of the anniversary.

lol mrs tramp. that makes me think of mrs clause. are you santa?

I took down that photo, but I posted a picture of me playing a Dept store santa. That was 30 years ago.

I guess that I need to repost the picture.

I only said mrs. tramp because at camp, solar talks about mrs. solar or some such.

I'm meeting my mom in Lincoln next weekend. I'm looking forward to that. It will be a nice break from the nothingness that has lately consumed my life.

9 days until American Doll Posse is released here and I can hold it in my hands.

July 3rd : Tori Amos live in London.

the start of the month
i'm gonna kick off my working out experiment, where i'll be working out more.
my foot stopped it cold. i wanna start again on a definitive date. and the start of the month is it.
Cherub's Ass
American Doll Posse on Tuesday.
Can't wait to hear the 19 songs I haven't heard yet.
And I hear it has an obese booklet.
trampolinefromspace
I asked my wife what she wanted for anniversary, mother's day. She said that she would wait until we got to Italy and pick something out there.

We'll be over there on mother's day.

Hopefully I won't be working on our anniversary. We got another lab move, but I don't think that I'll have to be involved in this one (at least not directly).
coolchick275
I'm meeting my mommy in Lincoln today! Here's why I'm excited: 1) I get to see my mom (duh); 2) I know she's going to buy me at least $100 dollars worth of new stuff (mostly clothes); 3) good food--I'm a college student so that doesn't happen much, plus, she's buying; 4) I get to go swimming, which I love to do but hardly ever get to do and 5) I get to stay in a fancy hotel (lol I know I'm a nerd, but I love staying in hotels) smile.gif

I am a little bummed though, b/c usually my best friend goes with us, but she can't come this year because she's on call at the pharmacy sad.gif
trampolinefromspace
I know what you mean about the hotels. I was excited about them too, but after all of the business trips that I've been on, the novelty eventually wears off.

Don't let me bum you out--keep the excitement as long as you can.
phairphreak
CC – sounds like a fun time. But I too only like hotels for maybe two nights.

I am looking forward to going to lunch today because I am friggin’ starving right now.
Also, getting some yard work done this weekend. I hired someone to cut my grass this summer – I am excited about that. I am also excited about Mothers Day. I am going o my parents and making a gourmet meal for them. Haven’t completed the menu yet, but I do know that one of the appetizers will be proscutto wrapped asparagus with a mustard sauce.
we left yesterday
ugh. that doesn't sound very appealing. but anyway, the things that i am excited about are:

- the new abra moore out june 12th
- beauty and crime out in june
- spider man 3 at the imax next friday
- tori's album on tuesday
- endangered species
- patty griffin live

wooden and alone
