From those lucky enough to see Liz, or have watched vids of her on Youtube, which performing Liz do you prefer:

The current Liz, very confidant, sings clearly and is very positive in general.

of

The old Liz, who's stage fright was apparent but made for a very interesting watch and a unique quality to her voice and style.

I like elements of both, but overall the latter, because her performances were more exciting to watch. (....yes on youtube rolleyes.gif, I was a mere infant-like-childthing in 1994)

This is my favorite performance of hers, it's sort of in between both of her performing phases: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYZjbsIdTUA

The Squirt TV appearance was total, typical old-school Liz (and you've only seen less than half of that if all you've seen is the current abbreviated YouTube clip).

I much prefer everything about the early part of her career. I never got to see her live until 1998, and I really do feel that I missed out on something great. Fortunately, there is the VHS...

Every time I've seen her live post-whitechocolate, she either sucked on guitar, or you couldn't hear her guitar, or her band sucked, or Dino was there, or she couldn't remember how to play the old songs... Come on. That overly confident, fake smile, going-through-the-motions, guitar-humping, headset microphone shit is ridiculous. And her old singing voice was way better. No contest!

I think I must agree now that you present it all like that, very true.
