I was thinking about her the other day-I put a bunch of classic 10, 000 Maniacs on my ipod from a rare sampler cd I just found. I actually have more respect for her now that I even did back in the day. I loved 10, 000 Maniacs & I loved her "Ophelia" solo album, but I wasn't as much into her other solo work when it first came out. I actually think I appreciate it more now.

after immersing myself in the lo fi narcotic sound of the cowboy junkies, i find myself yearning for layers; in sound, instrumentation, vocals, melodies, noise, anything. enter isobella, with their lush array of reverb, vocals, melodies, guitars. yes, shoegaze and dream pop and all that reminds you of bands like slowdive, my bloody valentine. there's also an influence of lush, a bit of curve and a bit of cocteau twins' angelic, otherworldly touch. their songs are so beautiful and comforting. this is what i sink into tonight.
