Full Version: Juliana Hatfield's new album, coming in January

After spending more than a year taking a break from music, Juliana Hatfield is set to lend her life experiences toward another album.

Love and Peace is slated for a Jan. 12 release through Hatfield's label Ye Olde Records, her publicist confirmed to Paste. Although the album may deviate further from her '90s grunge roots with a more acoustic-based sound, it is still expected to be characteristically autobiographical, especially with a song named after former Lemonheads bandmate Evan Dando.

Hatfield's initial announcement through Twitter comes more than a year after the release of When I Grow Up, which Hatfield once mused would be her last. "I'm not sure what I'm going to do. It's a weird feeling to not know," she said. "But I've got to the point where I'm not sure I want to make another album and I'm not sure if I ever want to tour again."

Hatfield first emerged as a solo artist through 1992's Hey Babe, though her popularity would peak later with a role in My So-Called Life and a contribution to the Reality Bites soundtrack, "Spin the Bottle."

I know a lot of people like Juliana, but I've tried several times to get into her and I just can't.
Still, good news for Juliana fans.

That's a nice picture of her.

I really wish that she didn't delete all of her blogs about her songs. I only got to read like five of them. Ugh.

true. she was on a deleting spree. she deleted blogs, tweets and stuff
it was strange

but i am so glad for her.

cc, i think you'd like her last album, how to walk away. it's very accessible.

I'm still annoyed I didn't save any of her blog, I guess I'll see what you posted here Fub. She seems quite happy from her twitter feed but she's deleted that once again recently. I guess it wasn't a good time for her. At least she's moving on with a new album, I just hope she doesn't stop releasing music. I'm so torn between Juliana and Liz that I almost find it hard to understand how anyone can listen to them in isolation myself.

How to Walk Away was a lovely album. But Become What You Are is still Juliana at her bitter best.

Um... PM me about demo tracks, I grabbed them all but keep it on the down-low guys. Also have been able to grab quite a few blog entries and even a few tweets. Heard a bad thing though here which seems to have brought on all the delete behaviour...
