I was sadly watching the show last night but I think I heard Liz's voice. It was a song with something to do with "getting out of prison".
I may be wrong but the music page on 90210 sites should be updated in the next few days.

According to the '90210' website, there was a Liz "single" played on last night's episode. The song was titled "Spoiled Peach". Was it any good?? Maybe something is beginning to break on the music scene with Liz. Marcos states that there are now free downloads of new songs by all the artists including Liz that were involved with that BR ad campaign with the purchase of something from BR. Interesting dry.gif Here's the link listing Liz's song. http://www.cwtv.com/thecw/90210music Wish I could hear it!

Sounds a little WCSE and Somebody's Miracle mixed. I feel more WCSE but its poppy.

Its played low but Ill try to get some lyrics:

Some people say that you can't take it with you
But I'm here to tell you that you can
Every little thing that I've ever did for you
In two cardboard boxes in your hand(not sure on the hand part)
All of my life I've lived in a dream
And I can't wake till I hear myself scream
But its all gonna change
Cause I read in the pages of gossip column new york magazine

I called you to say
I'm getting out of prison today
Nothing you could say make me stay(not sure)
Cause I'm getting out of prison

I'm running away
As far as i can make it today
Everybodies going to say
That we're getting out of prison
Yeah we're getting out of prison
we're getting out of prison
we're getting out of prison
we're getting out of prison.....

It's great! Her singing is deep and wobbly, there's drum machine for percussion, and it sounds more lo-fi than even wcse for sure!

oooooooomg
i'm excited. i think i would need to download the new episode then. lol
i knew i should have started watching this piece of shit show from the start.

It's really, really good. If her new album sounds like this we're in for a treat. It seriously sounds more rough than WCSE.

VERY good sound. Not overproduced at all. Agree with Pimp, if this is the musical direction of the new album, I think all of us will be surprisingly pleased!

i have to agree. it was really low, but from what i coudl make out-i really dug it. i wanted to tell the two prom-dress bitches to zip it...but, song and voice wise...i hear the layers she mentioned...it sounds promising.
if it was an album of songs like this - from the early stages...promising.

Okay after taking a few days to cool off from my "Fuck you, where the hell is the new album" Liz rant and continuing to lurk on this message board, I spot this potentially relevent Liz thread ( a few have been proping up here the past few days) about this new song. I too painfully watched this '90210' episode and heard (barely) the new song. I agree with everyone else's assessment. It is very low key and sparse in production, her voice and lyrics are front and center. No over singing. No huge choruses. Nice. She hangs there in her vocal comfort zone. It does have a 'Got My Own Thing' kind of vibe to it but I like it better. As Dan pointed out, the layered vocals are there like Liz said and they sound awesome. Pretty good shit. I hope the rest of her new stuff is understated like this. Let her lyrics and vocals do their thing.

It's called "Spoiled Peach" according to 90210 website...

Just throwing this out there, but I have a funny hunch that the new Liz Phair album is going to be called SINGLE.

It's actually pretty genius to name your first album on an indie label since 1994 "Single" seeing as how Capitol has probably asked for a single on every album she's done for them.

Or, maybe she is single relation-ship wise, or "Spoiled Peach" is an actual single off of her forthcoming album.

Either way, with this and the BR song in one week, I wouldn't be surprised if something is finally said about the album very soon.

Reading the lyrics over, you think it could be Liz telling us she isn't happy with the role that she has been playing and she's breaking out, maybe of mainstream society (Just pulled that from the gossip magazine line)?
Mattropolis
Wow, I must admit I didn't expect it to sound like that, am loving the production!
Shubba
I've had the tune stuck in my head for the past few days.

Only wish we could hear more of it, and that it wasn't called 'Spoiled Peach'.

I love that people are complaining about the SONG TITLE. I mean...it's not like Liz has been the goddess of the greatest song titles. 'Cinco De Mayo' anyone? How about 'Big Tall Man'?

Shubba
Cinco de Mayo is fine.

Big Tall Man is funny.

Spoiled Peach is what you'd expect on a Hillary Duff album.

Liz used to have eccentric, interesting song titles. Strange Loop. Nashville (I've always presumed this is a reference to the Robert Altman film). I never got my head around Stratford-on-Guy. The shakespeare thing doesn't make it any clearer.

LOL. xD

I don't think that she's decided to stop making eccentirc or interesting song titles. It's not like she's a different person or anything. She's still Liz.

Maybe there's some deep, hidden meaning in this title.

Or maybe she just called it that to confuse or upset us. Or both.
