THIRD!! I say we go extreme. stage a "forced creativity" demonstration. Boycott Dave Matthews records until he FORCES Liz to either write songs - or the album comes out.

If that means hiring a production team and songwriters and a costume designer to primp liz up - well - so be it.

kidding of course.

but seriously - wtf?!?!?! i guess this is classic Liz... sometimes "the wait" is the best part.

ANyone remember the "infinity" between Whip Smart and Whitechocolatespaceegg??
All those delays! Dear god...the writing was on the wall, even then, wasn't it?

so here we are...11 years later...weird...it felt like SUCH a long wait for WCSE...meanwhile, from 1993 - 1998 - a FIVE YEAR PERIOD -she released 3 albums, 1 EP and a whole smattering of songs on various soundtracks and compliations, not to mention the cache of demos we had to enjoy.
Shit - we were literally ROLLING in Liz material, and I remember back then, feeling so deprived!
If she released even half that in a 5 year period now, we'd be laughing!!

Should we revive the ole game from 1998?

Put our bids in for when the album will drop?

I'm gonna say - January 2010. Honestly.

January 2010.

anyone?
wooden and alone
lol
i'm gonna say later this year and that's wishful thinking

I'm going to say 2010 also. If it was coming out anytime soon, she definitely would have done a set at SXSW.

I'm keeping with my original theory that her self-produced version of the new album was rejected. That's why it was pushed back, and awful John Alagia was brought in. Anyone else bothered by the over-compression on everything he produced on SM?
Predatory Instinct
I'm predicting summer of 2009. August at the latest. I think it will be low key, little fanfare. Liz will make a few appearances pre release and follow with a short club and theater tour starting right after the album's release and lasting 2 to 3 months tops. Another prediction, if this album is not well received it will be her last and Liz will effectively retire. One last note, ATO's myspace page says "stay tuned" for info on "Liz Phair", oh well probably means nothing.
