No Lisa loeb?? werid.
we left yesterday
apparently she's forgettable.

Its probably because she's had more than one hit.

If Tracy Chapman can be named a one hit wonder Lisa can be easily.

ps site does not work for me.

I hate that term, "one hit wonder." No matter what an artist does after their "one hit" (which is sometimes their weakest song), their one hit wonder status seems to negate their entire body of work.
wooden and alone
true.

so what if the rest of their catalog didn't become a hit in the increasingly stupid world of mainstream radio? who wants that? ugh.

joan is still making music and she has a devoted fanbase. so does tracy. ew is so ewwwww. but lol the new bohemians. you gowna take that sittin doooown? wly.

^Agreed.

I don't think that anyone said that Tracy Chapman was a one hit wonder?

Anyway, try this then.

I only know Fast Car from Tracy, but I know that Lisa asked us to all Stay and enjoyed Pulling Taffy. So there is two.

Anyway, its a fun list - not meant to be science people. I love EW. And they love La Liz.

^^Don't forget "I Do," that was the first Lisa song I ever heard (and so, by extension, the song that got me into Lisa).

I love reading EW's lists (and EW). I don't always agree with them, but they're fun to read and great time wasters.

lisa loeb's second single do you sleep did very well and the album tails ended up going gold. taffy did well as did waiting for wednesday. not as good as the first two, but still good. i do was a top 20 song and it did well. let's forget about it was strong as well. she started losing radio airplay after firecracker. the length between albums was one reason. because when she finally came out with cake and pie radio had moved on to a new format that lisa wasn't a part of. the 90's music scene was gone.

tracy chapman is not a one hit wonder. her first album sold extremely well. selling at least 3 million copies. her second album went platinum. her 3rd album went gold, but by then there was no big radio hit for tracy. then she released new beginning and all that changed. that album had her biggest hit yet give me one reason. that song catapulted tracy back to radio and the top of the charts. a one hit wonder is someone who only has one song that makes a big dent on the hot 100 charts. one could say that hootie and the blowfish were one hit wonders considering their second album tanked comparatively. but they don't fit the actual definition of one hit wonders. neither does tracy chapman or lisa loeb.
