And I'm suprised to see URS is your favourite Alanis record, it's kind of rich in sound but I don't think it holds as much weight as the writing of SCC and SFIJ.

flinch and that partcular time are beautiful songs. man, i want to listen to those songs again but i have that shit on cassette. maybe i'll download it.

Someone told me ages ago that Flinch was initially left off the album, which is (no pun intended) ironic cos its easily the best track on the album.

Yeah, I told you that.

"Flinch" was one of the first songs written, and it wasn't going to be included (Which all her engineers thought was mad) and then just before it was being finalised, she ran into the guy the song was about twice. The second time in the dentist, where she called the team.

I have a special spot for URS... now that I've listened to SFIJ, I'm starting to really appreciate how diverse she's made it, but URS just speaks to the meloncholy girl in me.. That Particular Time and Flinch especially bring tears to my eyes, I love them so much. I could listen to the former on repeat for days and days and never get sick of it. Narcissus makes me laugh every time I hear it, in that "heh heh, you sucker" way that makes me think of my ex boyfriend, and what a co-dependant mama's boy he is.

...Also, I've given up on listing my favourite songs from those albums .. lol I'm too lazy. I'll leave it at responding if anyone asks me. And I'm surprised there's no Hawksley fans in here!! Anyone?

I love love "You are Free." And werewolf makes my bones shake.

I used to think it was overall ineffective compared to her earlier albums but now I really love it. I'm not liking The Greatest as much as I did initially. It's somewhat too relaxed which doesn't particularly suit Chan well. Some good songs though.

Have you heard the leaked version of Extraordinary Machine? It's much better than the the official release, I like it a lot more.
