It was the first time that I've seen her (of only two, the second being in San Francisco later that year). Really enjoyed myself. Though I had heard some boots prior, I was a little surprised by the warble she gets in her voice from time to time, but it doesn't detract, as we know. It was funny seeing her in a casino, but even as a nongambler, I kinda like casinos. The auditorium was large, and filled less than 25% capacity, which was too bad for Liz. I doubt she'll be back there. But the crowd was really into it. Despite the underfilled hall, the show had an intimate feel to it. Easy to be close, lots of room to move around. I sat at a table with five thirty-fivish soccor mom types, which was interesting, but they knew what Liz is about and were there for the right reasons. Liz was in miniskirt and heels, looking as hot as it gets.

I listened to the cdr copy I’ve got a few times in the first months after the show but have neglected it since. However, this thread prompted me to drag it out and I have it playing right now. Sounds pretty damn good. Good mix levels, with drums a touch too loud, bass sounding good, guitar a bit low, at least through the first quarter of the recording, but the vocals are front and center, and quite clear. Takes me back. Really had fun that night. Liz was in a good mood, a real charmer.

yeah, she looks gorgeous.

dammit, i wish i could take some pictures of her in concert. the last venue i saw her at would absolutely not allow cameras. the security nazis even went over everybody with metal detecting wands to make sure nobody took in any cameras(as well as other things).
