does anybody have bootlegs of liz?
QuieroPhair
Do you mean Girlysound or live recordings like Pottymouth Girl?
robnashville
yeah....here is Liz Live at Wellesley College 4-30-99

http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=945804

the boot is 192k bitrate

it was booted on dat so the sound quality is very good for an audience recording. Dat tend to sound better than mini-disc recorded boots, which are more prevalent it seems.

if folks would like to upload boots to my savefile account, PM me.

Erebus
Thank you for sharing this show. I'm downloading as I type. Look forward to hearing it.

that's cool. i was lucky enough to be at my brother's house last nite and he has the cable connection so that is how i was able to get this one up so fast. I'm on a slow connection also.

I may try to upload the Mt holyoke show from 99 also. It sounds good but not as good as the wellesley show. It gets a bit bass-y in spots but overall it sounds good.

One note about Savefile, it deletes a file if the file isn't downloaded for 14 consecutive days. Gareth, if you are gonna up a few tracks a day you may want to post the address as soon as you have 5 or so up, that you will make sure the initial tracks aren't deleted by the time you have upped all of it.

There are a load of bootlegs on ebay (I would guess other online auctions too) - from early on right up till last October - you might want to put Liz in that section of ebay where they email you every couple days with new items posted - I think I have upwards of 15 shows by her, plus DVDs of concerts or TV appearances - quality can vary a lot, and you have to be careful not to get the same shows by accident cause they can be described vaguely, but some of the bootlegs are great (especially if you are more into the earlier, rawer Liz). This is from the PBS show Sessions at West 54th. This bootleg is sourced from a unedited video tape of the entire studio performance. The show was edited down and censored for content when shown on PBS. Audio Quality is excellent.

Here's the Philly show from 10/16/05. The quality isn't as great as the other shows, but still enjoyable.

Thanks so much for posting the Phily Show. I was at the TLA that night. What a show! Can't wait til she comes around again.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU robnashville for those shows!

thanks for the encouragement, it makes it worth the effort to up this stuff on my slow connection.

I think the next show i will up will be the 3-17-99 Lounge Axe Chicago Show (I think Jase booted this one). This was a semi-solo electric guitar set. It is basically Liz and her touring Guitarist at the time, Buddy Judge. Highlights of the set include a duet on Flower with one of her admiring fans, girlysound fave Wild Thing, and the first ever performance of Conversation Overheard between two bouncers.

I think I will do this one at 128k bitrate because doing it higher rate would not add much to the sound quality. I should have this up by the end of the week-end.

anyone out there willing to up one of her Solo 1995 shows (please no oog sad.gif ) ? Those gigs ruled.
sixdickpimp
I have the "Glory" bootleg, but the sound quality sucks. My purchased copy is obviously a burned cd (and I got it in a reputable record store years ago, not ebay). There are a bunch of pops and stuff, but it is still awesome. She does "Hurricane Cindy", "Ride", "I'll Get You High", "You Have No Idea" "Wasted", AND "If I Ever Pay You Back." All in one show! My fave is "support system." Without the band, that one has a totally different vibe. I'll try and upload it this weekend. I also have the Pottymouth Girl bootleg which is a real cd, and has better quality.

If you are able to upload the Washington, D.C. October 12th show I'd love to have a copy of the file. I caught the Dallas show on October 31st. It looks like the setlist for the Washington, D.C. show is pretty much the same as the setlist for the Dallas show. How can I access the files for the Washington, D.c. show?

Where is the download link/button at megadownload? Can't see how to initiate the download, but then I could be missing it amidst all the other distractions. Thanks for the upload, and any help.

It appears in the top right-hand corner. You have to wait until the timer (45 seconds) winds down, and the link appears. smile.gif

That link isn't working. So I replaced the projectid in another savefile link with the one you posted, johnandcate. Here it is: http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=634177

By the way, the recording is the Pottymouth Girl bootleg. http://bliss.its-official.com/showdetail.php?albumId=397

i think savefile was having some file server issues over the week end and first part of the weekand these issues may be popping up again. You may want to give it a day or two to get corrected and try to up the rest.

Thanks. Hadn't heard that and enjoyed it very much. Great to hear some hard-driving Liz. Am I to understand that this is a track that was on the advance copy of SM but held off the official release? And is not available anywhere else? I do recall all the discussion of songs on and off SM, but didn't pay close enough attention at the time. I wish she had left it on SM.

Regarding that link, it had been hiding behind a kinda pop-up that I hadn't identified as a pop-up. This time I recognized it for what it is and closed it, revealing the download link. Funny. Makes me wonder whether the problem isn't idiosyncratic to Mac/Safari. Anyway, thanks for the track.

could someone repost these? thannks

Also does anyone have comeandgetit that they would be willing to put online for download? I have the "Liz Phair" CD, but I never realized there were bonus tracks...and now they aren't available for download any longer. And I've found some sites that are selling comeandgetit promo CDs...but so far I can't bring myself to pay for something that was supposed to be free...

If you find a copy of comeandgetit bring it to the register, there is some licensing stuff on the back that says "NOT FOR SALE for promotional use only," show it to the people working. Some have gotten a hard copy free in this manner.

Otherwise it is pretty rare, they appear on ebay once in awhile for a nice sum.
