Has anyone in here heard of Delta Goodrem? I just heard about her a month ago and I'm just really into her music. She's an Australian singer who sold over 3 million records over there and she's going to be releasing her first US album here on July 15! She's a really good musician and I really like her songs. She writes and plays her own music and she's just an awesome performer. I think some people here might like her. If you haven't heard of her before, here's a link to her music video that was released here in the US:

God please no. Someone delete this thread! I was hoping she'd die from her breast cancer.

She WAS this wholesome straight-laced artist, then she TRIED to sex her image up after the breast cancer was sorted out, only problem is her music is so bland no one can tell that she tried to change her image.

so mean, baud.
let me spank you.

I love me some Delta. Another Neighbours singer, and I love my Neighbours singers.

Her first album is still my favourite. One of the few albums over here to sell over a million copies.
Believe Again is a great song with a great video.

Woah....
And it wasn't breast cancer. It was Hodgkin's Disease.

Harsh (and not funny)

I wasn't intending to be funny. I hate her. Die biatch. I'm sick of having these idiots rammed down our throats through tv soap operas and then launching music careers and ending up on all these BS talk shows. If only she'd gone the way of Belinda Emmett.

So you hate her because she was on a soap or because you don't like her music?

AND as mentioned above, for thinking she could tart her image up, but her music is SO bland only her publicists could tell in the end.

I'm not joking.
There should be public executions for putting out music as dull as this.
I'm sure it will get picked up on Fox.
I mean hey, you guys are living in the country where they "execute retards" (non-PC - believe me I am PC) why not extend it a little further.

Jun 12 2008, 04:49 AM
Okay, I apologise. I shouldn't have said it. It's just frustrating having another crap actress launch into another crap music career. It happens all the time here. Please I beg you, stop watching Neighbours!

wasn't kylie minoge and natalie imbruglia on that show?
baudrillard
Jun 12 2008, 07:37 PM
Yep. Well Kylie was, not sure of Imbruglia, but I'm not a fan of either, and it's not as if they are the only ones that have done this. A LOT OF OTHER FAILURES THAT HAVE SHOVELED DOWN COMMERCIAL RADIO'S THROATS AND AUSTRALIA'S THROUGH EXPOSURE, ETC. HAVE AS WELL. So don't try and take the high road with the success stories.

i wasn't taking any high road with success stories. my point is that many on here like kylie and natalie. they don't think they're "neighbors crap". and thus you're not really going to get far with that line of reasoning. it's about the equivalent of saying liz phair sucks on here. or tori amos. take your pick.

Jun 13 2008, 12:34 AM
just because you don't like them doesn't mean they're "failures". i think their record sales prove otherwise.
i don't get how people can get so worked up about certain artists, just avoid their music, it IS possible, you're not forced to sit down and listen to them or watch them. stop wasting time on forcing your negativity on these people and go talk about something else...?

"just avoid their music"
okay, I turn off all tvs, radios, and stop looking billboards from now on, thanks for the handy tip!
I think the phrase "easier said than done" is what is appropriate here.
baudrillard
Jun 13 2008, 01:33 AM
And you should take some lessons in reading comprehension. I said the others were failures (not the beloved Kylie and whatsherface), i.e. the ones YOU haven't heard about but WE in Australia unfortunately have. They even gave one of them a show that went on AFTER Neighbours to make sure we were fully aware that the album was coming out, which subsequently flopped big time. But you wouldn't know that because you don't have this crap continually on the tv. So please, if you see a sentence and attempt to read it, maybe read it twice or say it out loud so you understand it.

not really.
i absolutely DETEST a band called The Hoosiers who are plastered everywhere here. TV ads, shows, billboards, on the radio, EVERYTHING. but you know what, i know i don't like them yet somehow i've managed to avoid them and their music.
i DON'T stomp around on some interent forum wishing they'd die of cancer.

I don't really think Neighbours has that many failed singers. I'd probably say there's more success stories than failures. Stefan Dennis had one song, but it was still a hit in the UK! Home And Away has more unsuccessful singers.

What about "The Steph Show" Perfect Misfit?!!!
Is Jason Donovan a success story? Really?
Perfect Misfit
Jun 14 2008, 02:40 AM
Steph may have flopped incredibly badly in the UK but she's had a gold album and single over here which is still pretty good. And Jason's debut album was the highest selling album in the UK in 1989. I don't know if he still makes music, but he still acts.

eeew Steph's album sold here? I bet it was that TV show after Neighbours!!
