I love female singer songwriters.
BUT
I really really hate Sarah Mclachlan. She's dull. BUT, I do like her song "Stupid" (Despite it having some really really plain lyrics.) because she begins to let go there, and actually verges on doing something.
I would love it if she let go, because it's not like she's a bad singer. (Though her and Heather singing "I'm on fire" was very "Just shut up sarah, you're not as good.)

i agree with phreak. i love sarah maclachlan. she's never released a bad album. she gets repetitive (afterglow) but she's never been bad. but hatred is an illogical emotion, so i guess, lys can be forgiven. haha.
as for myself, i love female singer songwriters but this heathen nova. tsk tsk. nah, just kidding. okay, i love punk pop (the muffs, that dog.) but most of the popular punk poppers, i cannot stand, like green day (ew) and blink 182 (ew). ew.

Gee, I wonder how I knew you'd throw in Heather Nova.
Do you like general punk? I love AFI! I'm really getting into them. I love Davey's voice. I don't like it when he screams and shouts as much, unless I'm real angry, because he does have a nice singing voice.

More like something my mom would listen too as well.

And for the record, Heather is better than Jewel. And yes, there is Heather Nova Magic. It wakes me up in the morning, it spruces up the day, and it rests me to go to sleep. I also dislike all the newer female-singer-songwriters in the '00s who imitate our artists of the 90's (Tori, Fiona, Liz, etc etc) No need to name them though.

I have a cover of "I'm on fire" by Heather Nova AND Sarah, and it completely ruins the song. Wheras the cover with just Heather is amazing.

I love Sarah's version of "Winter's Night" (Gordon Lightfoot's song), cause its just.. wonderful. Almost (almost) better than when Gord sings it.) I think credit has to be given to Sarah Mclachlan, though. She's made some really beautiful music, and I think its easy to dismiss her as being "boring." True, she may not push the envelope that much, but she does have a gorgeous voice, and her songs are always very soulful.

No, Tori's cover is really not one of her bests.
My favourite Tori cover is probably "A case of you.".
Heather's cover of "I'm on fire" is
the best.
Though, I don't know if I like it more than the original because I will always have a soft spot for old Bruce.
Also, Sarah is just so boring. She can sing and she can play instruments, but her songs never take off, aside a few - like "Stupid", which I really like.
