lots of crap on there too. the guy has a lot of albums on there i disagree with, but he also hits the nail on the head for many, many albums. there's probably half you can keep on that list and maybe half you can throw out.

I have to agree with about 95% of what this guy says.
It was good to see someone put the boot into Out of Time, Let it Be, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness as well as in general FUCKING Pink Floyd, U2, The Doors, The Hot Shit Chili Peppers, The Grateful Dead, Radiohead, Jane's Addiction, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, The Who, Oasis and Led Zeppelin...
but Trout Mask Replica and Sgt. Peppers seem kinda uncalled for. And I think the Nick Cave complaint is too general, I mean hey I haven't liked a Nick Cave album since before the start of this millennium, but before that his work with the Bad Seeds was good.
Fub I don't think there was ever even the remotest possibility that EIG would have ended up on that list.

Hmmm....I only have 5 of those albums (and I don't plan on getting rid of them). That must me that I have super-awesome taste in music which, let's face it, we all already knew.

^That's just one person's opinion & I think a lot of his comments are pretty dorky.
There are some amazing albums on there so don't let that list itimidate you.

Who do you object to being on the list KF4? I was kind of relieved on the most part, despite the superficiality of some of the comments.

^Well, I still love "Heaven or Las Vegas," "Heaven Up Here," "Tragic Kingdom," "Under the Pink," "Live Through This," etc. It's just my personal taste that I still love those records-I still enjoy listening to those folk-they relate to me & my life, so they feel like friends.
I also think there are some very important records in terms of the times on there-"Combat Rock", Violent Femmes, Jane's Addiction, etc. I think it's fine to make a claim that they may seem overrated or that you have "moved on" from the point of your life where something was important to you, but I would never make a claim that you had to "purge" your record collection of them (unless you want to).
I haven't really liked U2, Sting, or REM for years, really, but I still love their early work & always will probably.
I personally don't listen to much Sonic Youth, Pixies, Breeders, Morrissey or (quite frankly) Liz Phair anymore, but they were important records of the time to me & I would never deny that they have their place of importance.
I just don't take lists like this that seriously-it's just like a bitchy list myself or anybody else on this forum would write if they were in the mood.

well, i have to say i'm partly agree with the list. I mean, I've grown tired of people that only listen to music because the "cool" people tell them to (pitchfork media come to my mind). Everybody is diferent in tastes..if we start making discussions who is right and wrong whe will never finish. just enjoy what you like

Fuck who ever seriously liked the Shit Hot Chili Peppers anyway?? And smashing corgan used to be okay at the start of his career but Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness I refuse to tollerate. Same with the dinosaur rock that was mentioned.

look, i'll say it again and i'll say it forever. if you think for a second that liz fraser's delivery is anything but dazzling and celestial, you should get your head checked.
that's all i care really.
and hole's live through this is a landmark for girls in rock whether you think courtney is a retard or not. that album is brilliant.
all i care about in the list are the girls really.

I have a couple of these albums. Can't believe Under The Pink is on there. That's my favourite album along with Exile In Guvyille. I'm not angry, just really surprised that someone would put Under The Pink on one of those lists. Oh well, I can't take this list very seriously, I mean just read a couple of his comments about the albums and why they're on there.
