i'm currently (right this minute) listening to tracey thorne (everything but the girl). a distant shore was released apparently on 1984 and it's her girlysound kind of thing. it's very sparse, just her guitar and her voice. it's fine.

I have been listening to various artists on myspace and 15megs of fame. Kitty told me about these. There are tons of great songs and artists that almost no one knows about on there. It is great because it is stuff you never hear on the radio or anywhere else. It is sort of like Liz when she was just starting and nobody had heard of her.

I did an open mic in New York while I was there and this guy named
Geoff Baker played. He was adorable and really a wonderful musician. I just have the one song of his downloaded so far, but I plan on picking up his discs as soon as my checkbook recovers from the holidays.

Cos Slowdive were one of my favourite bands in the early 90's.
Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
