i'm currently (right this minute) listening to tracey thorne (everything but the girl). a distant shore was released apparently on 1984 and it's her girlysound kind of thing. it's very sparse, just her guitar and her voice. it's fine.
GoOnAhead
I've been on a real Clash kick lately. Also Death Cab for Cutie and Tom Waits.

Modest Mouse is pretty cool!

I have been listening to various artists on myspace and 15megs of fame. Kitty told me about these. There are tons of great songs and artists that almost no one knows about on there. It is great because it is stuff you never hear on the radio or anywhere else. It is sort of like Liz when she was just starting and nobody had heard of her.

MissKitty
I did an open mic in New York while I was there and this guy named Geoff Baker played. He was adorable and really a wonderful musician. I just have the one song of his downloaded so far, but I plan on picking up his discs as soon as my checkbook recovers from the holidays.
Jenny Feelgood
PJ Harvey, Rilo Kiley, Death Cab, and Tanya Donelly smile.gif

sad.gif I know I'm gonna get razzed for this.... I've been stuck on the original "Blues Brothers" soundtrack. Nuttin' like rollin through downtown nashvegas with the "peter gunn theme" blaring from a beat-up cherokee laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also, thanks to Tei, I've been into Cat Power.

To be perfectly honest, I'm listening to Lindsay Lohan. Just tryin to ya know, fit in the the new crowd.
kayli102
Lol. I like her song "Rumors". Guilty pleasure? I think so... But I also like Britney Spears and I think she sounds VERY similiar to Britney. Also, the lyrics to Rumors reminds me of Britney's 'Overprotected'.
Super Nova
Dude, I am so serious! I actually bought her album...I'm such a fag sad.gif

anyways I like the song "First" off her album Speak no one actually reads this thread right?
QuieroPhair

I love Kiss Me, but their cover of There She Goes is the crime of all crimes!
...of course I am kinda biased. The *original* by the Liverpool band The La's has been my favourite song by anyone for a very long time now...

Recent great albums I've listen to intently in the last couple of weeks are:

I pulled out my old Oingo Boingo CDs last week (specifically "Farewell") and remembered how much I miss them. *sigh* Good stuff.
Baby Blue
Les Mis, Les Mis, Les Mis...and a little Les Mis...I just never get sick of it...and it inspres me to clean my house so that I have an excuse to turn it up full blast and put on my own private little Broadway show...generally without fear of anyone walking in to see me singing and dancing with my broom. wink.gif
QuieroPhair
hmm.. baby I am going to have to spy on you more often dry.gif

Oh, idiots talking in my study hall.

I went to buy the Garden State soundtrack today but the only place in this Mayberry town to buy cds is Kmart who didnt have it. All they have is country and rap. This sucks.

yeah a buddy of mine was crowing about the colin haye song on there. Kitty had already provided me with a terrific colin haye cd so I have that one but he said there was a bunch of good music on there. I rented Garden State tonight but have not watched it yet.

I read this post a while back, but I've only just realised... (doh...)
Is this the same Rachel Goswell who used to be in the ace shoe-gazing band Slowdive?
Cos Slowdive were one of my favourite bands in the early 90's.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? huh.gif
Again cool.gif
