Thanks for this. I'm really excited for this album. I hope it blows me away. (I'm sure it will!) biggrin.gif

The album is out 20th of may. The Single is Underneath and its out on I tunes Monday.

Are there really only 2 other alanis fans on this board?

^I useed to really like her. I would like to like her more again-I still think she is a cool person. Unfortunately, like later Liz stuff, it just seems like I can't quite get into her music anymore. However, I did really like her version of "My Humps"-she gives that chilling type of vocal I used to like out of her & I love the irony she gives the song-so I will try to give her new album a shot.
phairphreak
Yea, I kinda lost track of her after SFIJ or whatever that was.

Under Rug Swept is a great album and so is it's counter part Feast On Scraps really under rated albums. If you liked her old stuff you should give "Underneath" a try.

I can't wait for this Alanis album. I'm also a huge fan of Guy Sigsworth, the person who produced it.

Flavours Of Entanglement is awesome!! biggrin.gif

it's hard to define the sound of the album thought. It has elements of rock ,indietronica, electropop , kinda remind me of Poe. After two rather disappointing albums, this is a true return to form . Seriously i need all the b-sides , demos ,remixes LMAO

i'm not sure. i haven't got a chance to hear the record yet, but alanis has been chatting it up and said the album was her way of dealing with a terrible breakup. sounds to me like jagged little pill the sequel. and seeing as how we already got that back in 2005 this would a sequel to a sequel to a original. i'll pick it up when it's out, but i'm not holding my breath for anything great.
wooden and alone
i've listened to the song "tapes". it's one of those moody songs. it has a definite electro vibe. not blip bloop just the dark, mellow, trippy kind. i always like her ballads because she doesn't caterwaul as much.
redlight
Is the new album any good? I haven't cared about her for a good 4 years.
verbal daggers
I love it and I'm yet to see a negative word about it .

he didn't say reviews either

i know, but it seemed to imply that. of course i'm older and i do tend to forget sometimes that people are getting to hear albums now much earlier now and are able to hear about how it's good/not good long before the album is released.

Not overtly impressed with the album thus far, but the second half is quite good. Especially Torch - WOW.
we left yesterday
that sucks. but then i haven't been overly impressed with alanis in over 13 years. i may wait and get it used.
verbal daggers
Citizen of the Planet, Versions of Violence, Moratorium , Not As We, Torch and Incomplete are all beyond amazing.
we left yesterday
not really. it's her best work so far, but coming from me that isn't saying much. sinch i'm not that big a fan of hers. still, the album does has some impressive moments. the deluxe edition songs are probably some of the best of the bunch.
