wow- Liz, you are officially my girl crush. I have been a fan for over 10 years and this was the first time I was able to see her live. I was just dying. Brought my dorky "Polyester Bride" sign which she didn't even see but it got played! Also played (not in order, not complete)- 6'1, Mesmerizing, Extraordinary, Help me Mary, Divorce Song (!!!), H.W.C, Supernova, Cinco de Mayo, Chopsticks, Girls Room, Why Can't I, Fuck and Run, It's Sweet, Love/Hate, Rock Me, Soap Star Joe....
I am blanking on some but all in all, despite a rather lame audience (although a super intimate small venue, didn't appear sold out and the with about a half dozen exceptions people were standing in place). But I left there just completely stoked that I finally saw Liz do her thing, and she is so gorgeous and just a joy to watch. A few technical glitches but no worries, we love you Liz! Thank you for coming to Atlanta.

Were It's Sweet and Love/Hate requests or ones that she threw into the setlist on her own, do you recall? In my experience, the audiences in Atlanta are usually too cool to get really enthusiastic about anything. That's just in my experience. It seems like she's had a few "technical glitches" regularly. That's a shame and must be a real pain in the ass.

She took many requests from the crowd, people yelled for both of those, so I'm not sure if they were actually somewhere on her setlist or if she just threw them in. HWC was definitely played because someone held a sign. Hopefully someone will fill in the blanks on the setlist I posted and can put them in order. I didn't want to take away from my first show by standing there with a pen and paper.

This my sorta kinda guess at the order of the songs played at the Atlanta Roxy Liz Phair show I just got home from. She had a set list but didn't follow it at all I don't think... I was upfront/ stage right of center. So I saw the list and she added and took away and changed the order... Which to me, made it all the more amazing. Only thing is "Stratford" was on the list but she didn't play it... However "6'1" (which was not on list, as far as I saw) made up for it. As far as for the orginal comments on this forum, "It's Sweet" was not a request as far as I could tell. She made a joke about how they always had to do one thing wrong... Remember? It was so cute, she saud something to the affect that if we hated it to ask her to stop. That was when she played "It's Sweet" which I thought was a great performace. Also, she didn't do "Chopsticks". That's my jam! (LOL) I wouldv'e remembered if she played it. I'm SURE of it... (-; "Rock Me" was hot wasn't it? Woo! (LOL) She was totally sexy during that one, and I'm queer as a 3 dollar bill, it was still fuckin hot! (LOL) Well, I'm sure this list is WAY outta order... but I think I got all the songs and the general location during show. Thanks and Peace, ya'll!

see I knew I could count on someone to have a better memory! (whoops about chopsticks, I was consulting my liner notes after several beers and it was past my bedtime

). Yes you are right about It's Sweet, I do remember her saying she would stop if we didn't like it. I might have to go cry about Stratford being on the list though, as that is one of my top 3 favorites (but since I heard Polyester Bride and Divorce Song which round out that list I will get over it)

I don't know who, if anyone, reading this hung out after the show to meet Liz, but she did eventually come out. It was about 12:55a, and the crowd of 30+ who waited after the show had dwindled to about half a dozen.
She came off the bus, and was very cool to everyone. She signed everything she was handed, and took a photo with everyone. Every time I've ever met Liz, she's never been anything less than cool to everybody, and last night was no exception.
I talked to several cool people last night, including two gals who had driven up from Savannah, two girls who drove from Jackson, MS (that apparently had the trip from hell, including missing most of the show that they drove in to see), and a few others.
One of the people who stayed had a copy of her setlist from the show. Not only did Liz sign it, but she wrote in the songs that she improvised during the show. Thought that was cool.
I left the lot at 1:15a last night, and had to be up at 5a. I'm hella tired, but it was worth it. Thanks, Liz.

That's awesome. I would have loved to have met her, I should have sucked it up and hung out. Oh well!

Damn it... I was there right up until literally minutes before that! I was with the LOUD red head chick. She kept saying she was tired so after we were told Liz was asleep, we left. Damn it! I wanted her to sign my Malboro Lights (cuz I hadn't brought anything... LOL). Wanted to meet her so bad! Guess I'll know better next time. Laters!

I think I remember you guys, and I also think you were to my right (at the front of the stage) the entire night.

In 1995, I met Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes after a show. I didn't take anything to get signed, either, but I had bought a pack of Black Crowes rolling papers inside. That's what he ended up signing.

OMG, thats awesome, dude. Yeah, I haven't gotten to meet her. I've wanted to so bad, I was w/ a larger group of friends when I saw her in A-town (lol) w/ the CWA tour last year and no one wanted to stay and try. I swear, my friend and I must of given up moments before she came out. I did see her before the show, by accident. My friend and I, being ignorant Alabama folk (lol), couldn't find our way around from the parking lot to the front of the theatre. So, we walked around the back like 3 times and finally we think we see the way in as I'm walking beside the tour bus. I didn't register the whole "duh, this is probably Liz's bus" until I was walking 2 steps behind her and her son... Still unaware of who it is. Until I passed them, turned to tell my friend to keep up w/ my speed walking, and saw it was her. I was afriad to say anything to her cuz she was w/ her son. I didn't know how she'd take it... so I chose not to (along w/ being star struck). She smiled in our direction, which was great... but I was too nervous to even say "hi". It was pretty cool, probably not to someone that has actually met her, but to me it was awesome. Oh, and when she did "Flower", that was so cute when she got that chick onstage to sing the last part. She was so embarrassed. So funny! That HAD to have made that girl's night. I wish she would've picked me. HA! I know she saw me singing it, along with every word to all the others. That would've been HILARIOUS to have picked a guy to sing "I'll fuck you 'til your dick is blue". I wouldv'e sung it like I meant it! (LOL) Great show. Did her mic go out a 'lil bit at the end of Cinco De Mayo? It sounded like it... Didn't matter though, the whole show was awesome... OH! Except for that damn thing standing beside her (her side stage left). Blocked my view from time to time. My friend kept having to put her head down on the stage and look up at Liz. Though during Polyester Bride, did you guys see her bend over and look under it. She was looking at my friend (who has her head on the stage, looking up, and singing along...) It was so cute. I hate to be THAT guy... but I liked the headset from last year (don't shoot! LOL) She got to move around alot more, though no matter how you look at it, the performance of Rock Me was awesome. Very sexy.... I'm rambling. I had an awesome time... Can't help it. Later.

Thanks for the link!
There were several people near the stage with digital cameras. I was surprised that no Atlanta pics showed up.
