AHHH...You have such good taste...smile.gif
I meant to tell you, CA, I thought of you a week or so ago when I was out in the field (now I feel officebound-yuck!), but I had my ipod on random & heard "The Dull Flame of Desire" & then "Pi" and they both make me cry with their intense emotion & hearing them right in a row-sounds corny, but as you get older things affect you alot! LOL!
I meant to tell you, too-I put "Volta" in it's entirety on to ipod & I appreciate so much better now-I really wasn't super crazy about it at first, though I have nothing but love & respect for her.

Hmm, I just don't dig Dull Flame, but I honestly haven't really given it a chance. I do love My Juvenile, so it's not Antony's voice I guess...

Ooh Pi is one of my faves. I actually love the whole first disc of Aerial in addition to the second now. Even Bertie is amazing!

"Dull Flame" is so beautiful-the voices are so amazing...
Aerial is also just so brilliant, I agree. "Bertie" is one of my favs as well. You can really hear some of Kate's love for Sandy Denny flowing through on Aerial.
Cherub's Ass
whos sandy denny?
katefan4
Ah. young one...Sandy Denny was a marvelous British singer from the 60's & 70's. She sang with Richard Thompson in Fairport Convention. She has a marvelous, dark folk voice & she was a huge influence on Kate growing up. Sadly, Sandy fell down a flight of stairs in her early 30's, had a brain hemorraghe & died. Kate honors her in the lyrics to "Blow Away" on NEVER FOR EVER.
Sandy's best solo album is called LIKE AN OLD FASHIONED WALTZ.
My fav Sandy song is "Fotheringay" (with Fairport)
I need to listen more to her again myself.
Cherub's Ass
Woo I know who Richard Thompson is.

Ahh so that's where I've heard the name before... (blowaway)

Ill check her out.,.. probably
