what is all about eve like?
hey there fub... all about eve... they're like an old old friend to me... the album i got is one of these retrospective type things, cos although i have some of their original albums... this box set thingy has it all together... with a dvd too... yum!
but, um... anyway... they're this late 80's and early to mid 90's band, and i guess they could loosely be indie-pop-gothers... actually thats a really bad description...
the bands vocalist, julianne regan has this really distinctive haunting voice that is the reason i really love the band. i guess a lot of the songs have a sub-melancholy feel to them, but they all have beautiful lyrics. um... i guess the best way to see if you like them is to give them i go... i think you would like them... assuming that you are ok with 80's and 90's indie stuff
all about eve biographyall about eve on myspacehope you can have fun with them

I've heard of All About Eve, albeit only one song, "Like Emily". It was put on a cd for me that were songs with my name in it.. but I distinctly remember thinking how beautiful her voice was. Very.. mature, and lilting at the same time. they're pretty sweet

right everything i got/bought for/off bday/bday money. (sorry if that was confusing):
tanya donelly - lovesongs for underdogs
cat power - myra lee
gemma hayes - the roads dont love you
throwing muses - the real ramona
pj harvey - to bring you my love
the cardigans - long gone before daylight (the bonus tracks version)
fucked up blair23

how are you liking the bonus tracks in long gone before daylight, specifically the ultra sad "if there is a chance". has it made you cry yet??
and good points with the gemma hayes, pj harvey, throwing muses and cat power purchases. i love the second album by gemma hayes. you'd probably like it better. it's more polished and just catchier stuff.

the tracks really don't gel well together at all. it's not an awful album but not a particularly good one either. there's some good songs in there though like Bea, No Parachutes, Dragonhead and Fall Down but after listening to it, i just yearn for Ramona.

The band is called "Kidneythieves" i consider them like techno rock. I'm not sure if you would dig them but they do have some awesome fucking songs, for their album "Zerospace". I love the vocalist chic she rocks!!!.
You might have heard some of their songs, you might have heard of "Before i'm dead" they played that song on the credits of "Queen of the Damned". And they did a cover version of "Crazy" from Patsy Cline, which they played on "Bride of Chucky". I Love their music, i mean its rock, but they also have their mellow/dark music as well. You might Just fall in LOVE with the song "serene dream".

.......guaranteed.
