YAY!!!!!
that greatest hits is a great summary of the b-52's, despite it focusing more on their late 80's/90s stuff rather than their early stuff.
let me know if you like.
great album by madonna also.

Whenever I listen to albums at the start, I always listen on the disc all the way through.
The first time I listened to the album I was all "woah... what the heck?" I really wasn't sure.
But the strangest thing happened; on the second listen I really, really enjoyed it, and it all sounded like it fit together better. Usually it takes me a few days with albums for that to happen (example: To Venus & Back) And I'll probably like it even better soon. So maybe it wasn't the best choice, but I'm certainly having a good experience so far.
Oh, except on the song The Dull Flame of Desire. It's pretty good but I can't stand Antony's part in that one. I like his part in My Juvenile, but not Desire.
Antony is an interesting person, but I just feel like they do not communicate enough on the duet. They are both too androgynous and their vocal quirks sometimes vy for dominance.
yeah, no one should do duets with Bjork.
Except PJ Harvey, that one rocked.

Tegan and Sara - The Con
first impressions: they probably listened to a lot of people criticizing so jealous as being so guitar poppy, almost radio ready and very accessible and decided to "indie" it all up for this album. thank god, their vocals are very appealing and their melodies are quite strong that even though this is not up to par to their last album, it's still very enjoyable.
it does pick up when track nine, "burn your life down" starts. and it gets catchier as it goes. nice.

for your money you should've got their anthology nude on the moon. it's two discs worth of music and not much more than getting the one you got. for a band like the b-52's it really is a must.

How are those performances?
Cherub's Ass
Jun 1 2007, 12:18 AM
I only got Soap Star Joe and May Queen.
The performances have Dino and Liz on guitar (Dino's is a bit louder, bleugh) But the two guitars are blended so it's hard to tell the difference between the two.
Liz's voice, considering the way she sings now, is good (but I just don't like the way she sings now in general).
Overall decent, could do without the Dino-fying though.

I think Liz's voice sounds great. It has a very nice, clear sound to it. May Queen and Soap Star Joe are really good, and surprisingly, I also really like this version of Why Can't I. Everything to Me and Somebody's Miracle, while still subpar, are not unlistenable (I actually like these versions better than the iTunes originals versions). I wasn't too bothered by Dino's involvement.

That is true about most music and irrelevant I find. I like Cat Power enough to enjoy her about any time or no time at all. It really depends, she is not mood linked any more than any other artist for me.

I've listened to it several times. I'm pretty sure I like it and will rapidly grow to like it a lot more. Usually with albums I dislike/find boring I hardly listen to them at all so it's a good sign.

I used to have the White Album on vinyl, but it developed scratches, etc.
There's a lot of cool stuff off of that one: Rocky Racoon, Back in the USSR, Helter Skelter, etc.
Some weird too: Revolution No. 9
I've been looking for it.
Good choice.
