Jeremy Engle or X-ray man?

thank yoooou
trampolinefromspace
The live shows after 2003 that have appeared on this message board are:
  1. Caesars Tahoe 2004
  2. Joes Pub
  3. Philly 10-16-2005
  4. Grand Rapids, MI 3-15-2004

Neither one of those two songs appear in the above list.

Does anyone know whether or not Liz has performed either one of these songs live? That may be the real question here.

X-Ray Man (4-25-94)

Jeremy Engle (10-12-05, 9:30 Club, Washington DC)
http://download.yousendit.com/0B2C8E64415EF14A

X-Ray Man was only performed a few times during late 1993/early 1994.
Jeremy Engle was performed for the first time on the acoustic tour in 2005. She also played it acoustically at some of the shows from the full band tour that year, like the link above.

Thanks a bunch for uploading these! Very nice job she did on JE and X-Ray Man is awesome!

Thanks so much! They are great!

Hey since we're on the topic of rarely performed Liz songs...

Anyone got Canary, Carnivore, Stuck on an Island, Don't Have Time, or Shane Live?

I don't think the other songs you asked for have ever been played live.
cherry_queen
wow! thanks a lot. smile.gif

Sorry, my brain must have been fried with everything going on over the last week. It's very logical for X-Ray Man to have been played in the 90s.

I was thinking of the wrong album.

...and, a big thank you for the cuts!
BlackZeppelin
I think it's odd that Shane has never been played live before. And I'd love to here Don't Have Time live sometime.
Cherub's Ass
thanks, millertime!

any other rare live tracks to share?
baudrillard
I don't know about specific tracks because I have a lot of bootlegs, sadly once I downloaded the copy of Canary posted I realised I actually had bought the entire show off ebay already. I still remember that there once was a site where someone said they were going to start putting up all the shows they could get their hands on, I kept checking back for a while but it didn't happen for a while if ever and eventually I lost the bookmark to that site. sad.gif I've always been meaning to put up some of the bootlegs I've got but I just haven't had time and now it looks like it's really the wrong time to start here. Maybe over at girlysound though? I just signed up, THANK GOD NO ONE TOOK MY USERNAME! smile.gif
cherry_queen
that sucks! sounds like it would be an awesome site.
baudrillard
Damnit. I found the site, I thought I might be able to find it if I googled "liz phair track lists" because I remembered that the site basically had details of every performance she's ever given. It looks different and stuff and has been recently updated, but sadly it STILL says the same thing it did a couple of years ago.

"(Due to security issues, and a lack of time, this project is on hold.)

I collect live shows, and I would like to share some of this music that has so generously been shared with me. I do not know the official stance of Liz as far as trading goes, but I do know that during one show, when asked, she stated that there should be some kind of "history." So with that in mind, in the future, I will serving up live shows."

sad.gif

Actually it describes what they've done, which is to update the site from 600+ linked pages of set lists to a database, but the copyright on the page only goes between 2003-2005 sadly. I guess things have been quiet for this guy/girl as they have been for Liz? Actually the last update is in mid-2006 sad.gif

Did Liz ever perform anything much from SM? I know from Joe's Pub and the Philly 2005 concerts, it looks like ETM, SM, and Table For One.

Any other cuts? I know that she used "Why I Lie" on some of her podcasts.

I'm primarily interested in Giving It All To You, which I think is one of the better overlooked tracks from SM, but it appeared that she didn't push the tracks on SM during 2005 like she pushed the tracks from WCSE and LP during the concert tours for those albums.

...and if you think that SM sucks, well, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion.
baudrillard
That was the first thing that struck me about concerts from that era. Why wasn't she actually plugging her own album much? Maybe it's just the live shows we have copies of, maybe I should check the setlists of that site I mentioned above, but it just makes me frustrated and think of all the shows we'll never get to hear. sad.gif

yea i wondered the same thing too. she didn't really play many SM songs. which is kinda disappointing. i would love to hear Giving It All To You or Leap Of Innocence live as well....

i was poking about this site...it's got a lot of set lists!:

here she played a snippet of "Fuck or Die" http://bliss.its-official.com/showdetail.php?albumId=422

Bloodkeeper & It's Sweet!!!

i'm finding it interesting that she didn't start playing more Girlysound songs until much later like in 04/05.

The bliss and fetish site has been on my bookmarks (my Liz Links) page for some time,

You can see my bookmarks page here.

I myself haven't completely drilled down throughout all of these sites.

My most previous edit to the page was adding robnashville's Wild and Unwise page link, which I should have added earlier.

Yesterday, I spent much of the day creating a Girly Sound page with the original cover art included. wikipedia rejected the cover art when JOG was making edits to the wikipedia page.

How many copies of "Just What I Needed" circulate?

Did Seattle 3/2004 ever surface?

Nice! One of my favorite tunes off of WCSE. She ROCKS it out. Whoever is doing the backing vocals on the song is great. Janet Rains?? Thanks a bunch!

Here's another rare one. "Love Is Nothing" from 10-6-98 in Boston.
